Overall, I liked the water effects I created with clear urethane resin for the diorama especially the sea and waves. I didn't like the explosion splash so much. I thought it was too "cartoony" and didn't represent the water misting of a real explosion splash.
The "misting" of the splash was created by stretching thin polyester pillow fill over the clear strands of the previous splash. A light coat of 3M Super 77 spray glue was applied after masking off the plane, and Extra Fine White Crystal Glitter was dusted over the poly fill. The bright light overpowers the glistening effect in the photos.
