After many years of researching and collecting information, I now have enough to start creating the PB2Y Coronado. I made CAD files from drawings, photos and measurements I took of the full size PB2Y that was undergoing restoration at the National Aviation Museum in Pensacola, Florida. The first pieces that I mastered , molded and cast are the empennage or tail control surfaces. I laser cut the parts from acrylic sheet and sanded to shape.
The masters sanded to shape and primed gray.
The vertical and horizontal stabilizers have fine engraved panel lines and the rudders and elevators have taped rib detail.
This is going to be a big model. The span of the horizontal stabilizer is about the same as a 1/48 scale F4U Corsair.
